Thor

Another marvel's super hero movie?

Thor!

I'd never really liked Marvel heroes. Truth be told, I don't like anything that tries to represent the world as something that is black and white, where there is only either good or evil. My first impression of this movie wasn't quite nice though. It's hard enough to imagine a hero with a humongous cape and a hammer flying around fighting crime in a comic book, but to make him flying around in a 'real life' movie?

Again, ever so often i have to admit that I am a humble human being with a lot of undoubted weaknesses, and in this case, I have to admit that I have a really bad first impression hunches.

First and foremost, this movie is great, in a sense. The story telling is marvelous, with an occasional twist here and there. The bad guy isn't actually THAT bad. He have a great sense of duty, but he approached it from a wrong direction. The hero was an arrogant fool who thinks with his fist most of the time, whom gradually changes with the course of the story. Plus, ( spoiler alert! ) theres no happy lovey dovey ending.

Remember what I'd just said two paragraphs before? I was wrong. The fighting scenes and most of the CGI scenes are wonderful despite the hero using a small hammer and having a huge cape on his back.

Downside? Bad costumes. Don't get me wrong though. It's great, and definitely not cheap stuffs, but somehow, i was expecting something more. Maybe a less rigid, more detailed costume?

I really don't have any more to comment on this movie. I didn't mean it's a tip top perfect movie though. But somehow, despite my lack of negative comments on this movie, it lacks something, making it just another random movie which I will simply forget about it in months to come.

It's a great movie, but somehow, I can only give it 7 stars. Sorry buddy.
