Oldies : Ninja

Cerita lama...Ninja...Zoom in guys!

Mmhm, sudden increase dalam bilangan post membuktikan something.
I don't have anything to do this holidays.

Well, back to the topic. Untuk movie ni, satu ayat..

Sux.

And yea, it's true.
Movie ni is one of those movies yang everything is about coolness, dan every character dalam novie ni is like
' Hey, look at me, I'm soo buff and macho that it doesnt matter sama ada saya pandai berlakon or not'

Which in my opinion, is SANGAT TERUK!

~Sigh~

Same old story telling. Bad guy buat salah, kene buang dojo, bad guy returns untuk balas dendam.
I mean came on, beribu cerita ninja dekat luar sana, and you still chose the same jalan cerita.
Oh please lahh.

Another thing that I hate is bila orang putih cuba nak buat cerita Eastern. Diorang try untuk buat like the Mat Salleh is always better in everything.
Hello, can we please be a little realistic please, even though its a movie.

I give this movie 4 bintang. Kalau siapa-siapa tanya, ' Oh Hafiz, apa description untuk 4 stars?'

Well, kalau 5 bintang meant ' I would be happier if i didn't waste my money watching it in the cinemas',
then, 4 stars is ' I would be happier if I didn't waste my time watching this sheet'.

4 stars, according to the 'Crap-o-zoidal rule'

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows : Part 2

10 years... 10 long years...

...and movie ni sangat mengecewakan.

Selepas 10 tahun, 7 movies, dan satu akil baligh bagi setiap pelakon, THIS isn't how I expected it to end.
  ~Nope, Na'ah~

First of all, banyak sangat cakap. Which is OK, tapi sampai penonton tak ada feeling untuk character tu.
I mean, comeon, kita boleh kira berapa banyak ayat yang Ron and Hermaine (however you spell it) dalam movie ni.

Secondly, I hate  pertarungan antara Voldermolt (again, however u spell it. dang, semua nama dalam cerita ni susah nak eja). No spoilers, but trust me, it sux.
Bukan sux like lame or anything, tapi sux like x berbaloi untuk tunggu 10 tahun.
I mean, some of the previous movies nyer battle lagi cool daripada battle ni.
 ~sigh'~

I miss hermoini (again, pardon the misspell) and they spoil the last movie dengan x tunjuk die.
~double sigh~

all in all, bukan semua x baik. love the effects, the costumes, but movie ni is just not good enough.
Bummer.

And I give this movie 6 stars out of 10

Transformers : Dark of the Moon

Someone wishes me to do this blog in malay rojak.

Well, your wish is my command.

Hi, and selamat datang ke versi baru MyMovies. Yea yea, aku tahu dah terlambat nak cerita pasal benda ni, don't be a critic man, I thought that's my job.
I am a family's man, so aku selalu tengok movies-movies besar macam ni with my family. It's fun, and aku recommend korang untuk slalu tengok movies with korang nyer family.
Again, sorry for the late review.

So, dalam episode kali ini, kitorang akan cakap pasal Transformers : Dark Of The Moon.
Check it out!

So, first thing first; aku just kene cakap ni first; AWESOME action. Aku pakai caps bersebab tau. Sebab its AWESOME.

Full action pack untuk 30 minit or more, making aku sit at the edge of tempat duduk aku.
Seriously, kalau bab action, Transformers never seems to be a disappointment, even Transformers 2 yang tak seberapa.

Plus, diorang seemed to ambil pengajaran daripada cerita yang lepas.
The bad guy isnt that crappy anymore.
Ada banyak moral conflict dalam diri yang jahat and yang baik.
And its about heroes yang actually NAK jadi hero.

Exactly apa yang aku cari dalam sesebuah movie, a reflection of the real life.

setbacks:

Minah baru ni x pandai berlakon.
Well, seriously, dia nampak kaku, like a doll. cantik, but still like a doll.
Aku x dapat nak rasa the feeling of characteristics dalam lakonan die, only macam dia tu minah action with no feelings; macam robot dalam terminator.

TAPI; walaupon aku x nampak; tapi adik aku cakap dia did the whole action scenes berlari......dalam kasut tinggi.

WOW, I can't even walk in those things. Credits to her, man.

Another setback dalam cerita ni though, is the plot. Its great, jangan salah faham, with ranges of sejarah yang diorang selit-selit kan sana sini seolah-olah menjawab persoalan-persoalan theory konspirasi;
like, kenapa kita dah lama x pergi ke bulan, or apa yang berlaku kat Chernobyl sebenarnye?

But the downside though, is that, plot dia agak kelam kabut. No kidding lah kan, nak pack jalan cerita panjang tu dalam cerita 2 jam (although diorang pon terlebih like 30 minit).

All in all, great movie. salah satu yang terbaik aku tengok this summer (walaupon aku tengok like 2 movies je this summer). Aku reccomend siapa-siapa yang belum tengok cerita ni, untuk tengok. CEPAT, sebelum terlambat!

And aku bagi 8 stars out of 10...syabas syabas..

* * * * * * *
Oh yea, aku plan nak tengok movies-movies lama this holiday, so, i would really appriciate suggestions guys. Terimas

Pirates of the Caribbean : On Stranger Tides

First thing first; I think I can get drunk with Coke.

Before I start, let me tell you some of the basics of movie marketing stratagem.
To generate the maximum amount of profit from your movie, it is preferable that you create a franchise out of it.

When you create the first movie, make sure people likes it. Make sure it's unique, and the concept appeals to your client.

For your second movie, ensure that there is a perfect twist to the story. Always make sure that there's a hanging ending so that you can continue with the third movie.

Always end your third movie with something that will make your spectator in awe, craving for another movie.

Once this is done, your movie will have the notoriety and fame, that fans will simply invest their money to watch your upcoming movies regardless whether it is good or not.

And this movie, ladies and gents, implemented the theory word by word from the book.

What I'm trying to say is that, as expected, this movie is a let down. The plot isn't good. Simple, and was meant to be something where you can simply lie back, and all of the sudden, the movie is over.

Bad character development as well. There's dozens of new characters in this movie, and not one of their background was told in a way that could possibly satisfy me.

Oh, and another thing. Usually, it might appeals me if there's naked women in the movie. But, to actually see one in a Disney's movie? That is almost absurd. I'm not trying to be closed minded or something here, but umm.. Last time I checked, Disney aimed their movies to attract adults and kids.

Perhaps I was mistaken  or maybe my perverted mind played some sort of a trick, but I don't think parents want their children to understand the 'illusionary' meaning when a women asked a men
" why is it that when we met, you always ended up pointing something at me? "

OK, I'm sure you didn't think something is fishy behind that sentence because I'm sure you are a great person.
But surely you'd felt the fishynes  when you saw the mermaids, eh?

Bad things aside, there are some good things about this movie. I absolutely love the costumes. They're wonderful and awesomely great!

And it's an epic movie, I mean, who would hate epic movies?

All in all, I'm giving the movie 6 stars. I was really disappointed.

Thor

Another marvel's super hero movie?

Thor!

I'd never really liked Marvel heroes. Truth be told, I don't like anything that tries to represent the world as something that is black and white, where there is only either good or evil. My first impression of this movie wasn't quite nice though. It's hard enough to imagine a hero with a humongous cape and a hammer flying around fighting crime in a comic book, but to make him flying around in a 'real life' movie?

Again, ever so often i have to admit that I am a humble human being with a lot of undoubted weaknesses, and in this case, I have to admit that I have a really bad first impression hunches.

First and foremost, this movie is great, in a sense. The story telling is marvelous, with an occasional twist here and there. The bad guy isn't actually THAT bad. He have a great sense of duty, but he approached it from a wrong direction. The hero was an arrogant fool who thinks with his fist most of the time, whom gradually changes with the course of the story. Plus, ( spoiler alert! ) theres no happy lovey dovey ending.

Remember what I'd just said two paragraphs before? I was wrong. The fighting scenes and most of the CGI scenes are wonderful despite the hero using a small hammer and having a huge cape on his back.

Downside? Bad costumes. Don't get me wrong though. It's great, and definitely not cheap stuffs, but somehow, i was expecting something more. Maybe a less rigid, more detailed costume?

I really don't have any more to comment on this movie. I didn't mean it's a tip top perfect movie though. But somehow, despite my lack of negative comments on this movie, it lacks something, making it just another random movie which I will simply forget about it in months to come.

It's a great movie, but somehow, I can only give it 7 stars. Sorry buddy.

Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah

The title is a mouthful isn't it.

Ok, so i heard this is one of the big shots malay movie. My mom INSISTED that i watch it, and reluctantly, i did.
Frustrated? Well, i wont say that it's that bad. Instead, I'll say 'OK lahh..'

OK, I know i was a bit too late to talk about this, but hey

This is my blog.

Basically, this movie is about a village, which was being haunted by the ghost of Kak Limah, a lonesome village elder whom people barely know about. All of the sudden, Kak Limah's ghost appeared in Kampung Pisang. What had the villagers did to deserve the haunting? Watch, and you will be surprised. Spooky huh? Well, it's not another typical horor movie, mind. I do not watch those kind of movies ( don't ask me why), but instead, it's a classical horror comedy. There's an interesting twist in the end, which i will definitely not spoil it to you.

Here's a little info. Remember the infamous 'Zombi Kampung Pisang'? Well, this is that movie's sequel just for your info.

All in all, I think this movie was creatively done. It's one of those 'simple comedy' or 'lawak bodoh' comedy , but it was done in a fantastic method. The jokes are funny and clever in a way, unlike most Malay comedy, albeit some parts where the jokes are barely funny. I really have to complement this movie though. Watching it was like watching another P. Ramlee's movie. It's one of the 'trend setting' jokes that I'm sure movie makers in the future will surely imitate.

I also like this one part, where I felt kind of scared, but at the same time, having the urge to laugh because of the silly jokes made by some of the characters. It was during this one part, where the village peoples were trying to find Kak Limah in her house. OK, I admit, I am a bit of a scaredy cat when it comes to watching  horror movie ( I had just answered your first question huh ), but this two different feeling, nervousness and fun, to emerge within me at the same time, is a miraculous accomplishment by the director and casts.

On the other side, the movie lacks story telling and a great story line. Even though it's one of those 'simple comedy' movies, but I'm expecting some sort of a smooth sailing story telling that will actually makes sense to me. A movie that would entertain me with a magnificent story telling, like other fantastic movies. To me, regardless of the movie's genre, a movie must have a concrete story line because, if not, what is the point of creating one.

I'm also disappointed with the movie's ending. After the stupendous ending in 'Zombi Kampung Pisang', I was expecting that they'd improvise, and learn something. Maybe they thought its a great move or something, but I think it's hardly comical. It created an aura of 'WTF' in my head, like I was wasting my time despite the fact that I had some great laughs watching this movie.

I don't mean to disappoint any people, or suffer from anyone's wrath, but I think this is a great movie, but requires a lot of development in certain areas.

I'll give this movie, a 5 starts. *Kaching*

Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa

First and foremost, I'm a typical Malay with a stereotypic view of Malay movies. There's something in my mind that says, Malay movie sucks.

Boy, how I was wrong

Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa is another Hikayat (story or legend) that is as famous as the fabled Hikayat Hang Tuah.
It is about how the first king of Langkasuka became king. He was a sailor once, and a great warrior, that the Roman prince seek help from him in his voyage to marry the Chinese princess.

I'll write about the downfall of this movie first. In my opinion, I believe that this movie lacks dimension whenever there's a talking scene.
It's hard to comprehend what they talk about, plus the scene gets boring real quick. Probably because of poor script writing, or perhaps lack of skills in the actor's acting.
I don't know, but there are times when I wish they will just stop talking and kill someone; like when I was watching Twilight.
I'm not saying EVERY talking scene is boring though. Some are fun, like the part where the prince met the princess  : )
Also, there are some bad scenes where I think they shouldn't have put in this movie. The scene before the final war, where they were on the boat, getting ready to fight the pirates; where my mouth was gaping like a fish and I was thinking like 'WTF is this man?!'
but, there's only one scene of this, and I pardon the director.

THAT scene, that small down pit is actually the starting to something bigger. The final battle is super good, and I definitely like the battle between Merong and the sex addict bad guy.
The fighting felt powerful, and the effect is great.
Congrets goes to the choreographer for such wonderful finghts.
Also, I believe that the fighting scenes is the biggest strength in this movie.
Trust me, they kind of covers all the bads of this movie.
Clap clap.

Oh, the costumes was also superb. I wonder if I can go to classes half naked like that?

Also, the effect isn't that bad. Some poor editing here and there, but otherwise, you might not think this is KRU's first epic movie. The moral value was also transferred efficiently, and in a very interesting way.
I also half-debated with myself during this video.
'Is this better than Afdlin's movies?'

And truth be told, I still don't have the answer to this question.

I think I missed some stuffs that I wanted to say. To sum it all up, I just wanna say,
If you think this movie will be boring, then change your opinion, because its not.
If you think it will be good, change your opinion as well, because it is superb.

And that is why, ladies and gentlemen, I give this movie 7 stars, and pronounce it as the best Malay movie that I had ever watched (or one of Afdlin's movie; I still can't decide. maybe I'll watch one soon so I can decide)

World Invasion: Battle Lost Angeles

Great movie...Thats all that i can comment here folks....

Nah, but it's almost true though... Fun story and complex plots. If you are an alien movie or a war movie fan, (or your mother is a fan of one, and your father is a fan of the other, and you are simply a mixture of both), I fully recommend this movie. And let me tell you, you can actually feel the pressure of being in a war (even though this story is about alien) and how people oppress the feeling. Spectacular! The depression when the aliens just wont die, the sadness when their comrades die one by one, the victory at the end of the movie ( I cant spoil anything to u guys, sorry) is superbly displayed and i felt enjoyed.

Also, the characters of this movie is fully explained and the persona given to them is effective in giving some depth to the character. Its like The Lords Of The Rings, a full platoon of comrades trying to achieve the objective, with different person having different problems. classic, and i love it.

The downside of this movie, though, is that the characters was difficult to be distinguish between one and another. Partially because of the marine outfit they're wearing...Another reason is because of the awesomely fast pace of the movie and the shaky camera style (maybe they should hire actors that do not look like twins eh?)  ... Another sad downfall of this movie is the aliens. For some reason, their metallic spacecraft and body somehow make them seemed more like their brothers from District 9. hmm....

A little summary: Battle Lost Angeles is a story of a platoon of marines stationed in Lost Angeles trying to retake Lost Angeles after the city was attacked by extraterrestrial mechanical beings from outer space. They were lead by the hero who have an ugly past, and along the way, they learned the true meaning of being a leader, a loving father and trustful comrades.

Overall, i gave this movie an eight stars out of ten ( on the same notch as Transformers, District 9, Avatar)

foreword

hey...

This is a new blog that i made, and the main reason for this blog is to archive movies that id watched and my PERSONAL opinion about the movie. And yes, there's a reason as to why there is a bold word there.. Primarily, because it's personal, so don't troll about it in the comments. Hey, I accept comments and disagreements, but i do not want to be reminded about how wrong i am on every post i made and be called things i would rather not read. Also, i don't need to be reminded about how horrible my English grammar is. I know its horrible, but  i'm practicing that language now, and i feel comfortable writing in it...also, again, i appreciate the corrections, just don't troll about it.

Also, this is an archive of movies that I had just recently watched. Not upcoming movies or such as i am just a humble student and wasn't granted the honor of reviewing upcoming movies. unless someone wants to treat me watching movie, i'm stuck with watching movie according to my budget.

Moving on..The posts i'll be making in the future will be based upon 10 stars creditability, with:
Average  5 stars ; which means the movie is unworthy of the money you need to spend for a cinema ticket. Lots of area that needed to be improved. ( ie: Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah)
                                               * * * * *

Good 6 stars being slightly better (still unworthy to be watched in the cinema; like Ironman2 and Pirates of the Caribbean 4).
                                              * * * * * *

Better 7 stars means its a great movie, with slight errors here and there (ie bad story telling, character development, etc; like Transformers2, Merong Mahawangsa).
                                             * * * * * * *

Great 8 stars being great movies with cool effects and great story line (such as Transformers, Avatar and District 9, Battle Lost Angeles; and you definitely have to see it in the cinemas)
                                            * * * * * * * *

Superb 9 stars are awesome movies (like Inception and Batman: The Dark Knight; the best so far)..something that i recommend you to be addicted at and go watch it for like 3 or 4 times.
                                           * * * * * * * * *

Impossible 10 stars are for impossibly great movies. Maybe some upcoming movie will be in this position, but none so far.
                                          * * * * * * * * * *

oh, and another something..i'm a movie watcher who likes to comment..and i like sci-fi, computer generated effects, aliens, buff-action, war oriented, less romance with deep meaning movies...and just for your information, i hate twilight....(if you are a twilight fan, i'm sorry... <:c  )

Oh, and also, I'm an uncertified critic, and i lack the knowledge of criticizing stuffs and stuffs regarding copyrights. so please don't sue me ya?

so, thats all from me...have fun...
